Nationwide delivery

Privacy/Updated August 2026

What we collect, and why.

Short version: your name, phone, email and delivery address, because we cannot deliver a parcel without them. We do not sell data, we never see your card details, and there are no accounts to breach.

Who this covers

This policy applies to The Redolence Place and to everything you do on this website. We are the data controller for the information described here. Reach us at theredolenceplace0@gmail.com or 09159182637 about anything on this page.

What we collect

When you place an order

  • Your full name
  • Phone number — used for delivery coordination over WhatsApp
  • Email address — used for your receipt and order updates
  • Delivery address, city and state
  • Any order notes you choose to add

We ask for nothing beyond what a courier and a receipt require. There is no account, no password, and no profile stored against you.

When you pay

Payments are processed entirely by Paystack. Your card number, CVV and PIN are entered on Paystack's systems and never touch ours — we cannot see them, store them or recover them. What we receive back is a transaction reference, the amount, and whether it succeeded. Paystack's own privacy policy governs that step.

When you contact us or subscribe

The contact form sends us your name, email, chosen subject and message. The newsletter form stores only your email address. Both go to our own inbox.

Automatically

Standard web server logs — IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps. These are used for security and to work out what is broken. This site does not run third-party advertising trackers, and the cart is stored in your own browser rather than on our servers.

Why we are allowed to hold it

  • Performing a contract — we cannot deliver an order without a name, address and phone number.
  • Legal obligation — transaction records are kept for tax and accounting purposes.
  • Consent — the newsletter, which you opted into and can leave at any time.
  • Legitimate interest — server logs and fraud prevention.

Who else sees it

  • Paystack — payment processing. They receive your email, the amount, and the order summary attached to the transaction.
  • Couriers — your name, address and phone number, so they can deliver the parcel.
  • Our email provider — to send receipts and replies.

That is the complete list. We do not sell, rent or trade personal data to anyone, for any amount, ever.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for six years to satisfy Nigerian tax and accounting requirements. Contact-form messages are kept for two years. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Server logs are kept for ninety days.

Your rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 you can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct anything wrong, delete it where we are not legally required to keep it, send you a copy in a portable format, or stop using it for marketing.

Email theredolenceplace0@gmail.com with the request and the order reference if there is one. We respond within thirty days at the outside, and usually within two working days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Card data never reaches us. Order information is held in our payment processor's systems and our email. No system is perfect, but we have deliberately built this one to hold as little as possible — the safest data is the data you never collected.

Cookies

This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies. Your cart is stored in your browser's local storage so it survives a refresh; it never leaves your device until you check out. Clearing your browser data clears your cart.

Children

This shop is not intended for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has given us information, tell us and we will delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top of the page. The version shown here is always the one in force.
