How it smells
Opens with a bergamot sharp enough to read as grapefruit for the first ten minutes. Then the ambroxan arrives and takes the fragrance over. That mineral, faintly salty push is the thing people identify across a room, and in the Eau de Parfum it sits on vanilla rather than the drier pepper of the original Eau de Toilette.
The structure underneath is deliberately simple: star anise, a soft vanilla absolute, cedar. Four or five materials, all of them loud, arranged so none of them wobbles. That plainness is exactly why it holds up in Lagos humidity when more delicate compositions turn thin and disappear by midday.
