How it smells
A cinnamon-and-leather fragrance dressed as a citrus one. The first minute is blood mandarin and grapefruit; after that the cinnamon arrives and does not leave.
The base is where it earns its reputation — leather, amber and patchouli, with a white-wood dryness that stops it becoming a dessert. Seventeen years on it still smells like nothing else in its price bracket.
It suits cooler evenings and Harmattan far better than a humid afternoon. Applied in real heat, the cinnamon can turn sharp.
