How it smells
The coffee note is the whole point. It arrives about fifteen minutes in — dark, slightly bitter, sitting against jasmine and a bitter almond that gives it an amaretto quality.
Pear and pink pepper handle the opening and keep the first few minutes light. The base is vanilla and patchouli with cedar underneath, and it is that patchouli that keeps a very sweet fragrance from becoming cloying.
It performs best from late afternoon onward. In full Lagos heat the vanilla pushes forward faster than you might want.
