How it smells
The smoke here is guaiac wood and cade, and it is the first thing you get — dry, slightly sooty, with a clove note beside it. Chestnut and vanilla arrive underneath within a few minutes.
What makes it work is that the sweetness never wins. There is always something burnt sitting on top of it, which is why it reads as a fireplace rather than as dessert.
It is best in cool weather and it is a genuinely comforting thing to wear indoors. Moderate projection, and it clings to knitwear.
