How it smells
Pink pepper and neroli last about three minutes. What you are really buying is the middle: rum and clary sage against tobacco leaf, sweet but with a boozy bitterness that keeps it from being a dessert.
Vanilla, styrax and benzoin close it out. It is comforting rather than impressive, and it works far better on a cool evening than in an air-conditioned office.
As an EDT it is not a performance monster — expect five or six hours. Many people prefer it that way.
